The SOLEYE300 solar telescope has achieved a significant development milestone through a collaboration with Admatis and support from the European Space Agency. This advancement involves the integration of space-grade passive thermal control systems, previously exclusive to spacecraft, into a consumer-grade astronomy device.
Admatis's ESA-compliant technology allows for the application of specialized coatings to the SOLEYE300's structure, optimizing heat distribution and minimizing image distortions caused by self-induced local turbulence. This is achieved by utilizing thermal solutions designed for spacecraft, which experience similar levels of thermal radiation as solar telescopes.
"Advanced thermal solution for SOLEYE – Space-Tech solution for solar telescope thermal control system" executed by SOLEYE (TM) has been supported by Design Terminal, the ESA TB Hungary through the ESA Spark Funding initiative.
