Instruments of Awe

Our revolutionary, high-performance solar telescopes put observatory-grade solar imaging directly into your hands. This is your window to our star, as you’ve never seen it before.

A No-Compromise Approach

Every instrument that bears the SOLEYE name is born from the same first-principles philosophy. The very same principles that guide the development of our mission-specific platforms for national observatories are at the heart of our telescopes for solar photography. Each one is engineered to a single standard: to deliver the purest possible signal. We do not iterate; we innovate, ensuring every instrument in our collection represents the pinnacle of optical and mechanical excellence.

A Purpose-Built Architecture

Form follows function. The distinct, open architecture of a SOLEYE instrument isn’t just for aesthetics; it is a functional response to the challenges of daytime imaging. By eliminating the enclosure, we eliminate the micro-climate that blurs images, delivering a stability and sharpness that enclosed systems simply cannot match.

The Open-Truss Advantage

Traditional telescopes suffer from thermal expansion as the day heats up, causing focus shift that ruins long imaging sessions. We solved this by constructing our open architecture with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) tubes. Chosen for their near-zero coefficient of system thermal expansion, these tubes ensure the frame remains geometrically constant even as temperatures rise. This mechanical stability allows you to shoot stable, focus-perfect time-lapses for hours without the constant need for readjustment.

The Dualband Advantage

Our primary mirror coating is a true engineering breakthrough: a genuine dualband system. Unlike standard mirrors, it features two distinct reflection peaks precisely tuned to the two most important wavelengths for solar photography. In all other ranges—including the bright green spectrum—the mirror is anti-reflective. This means it actively suppresses unused light and heat before it ever reaches your camera, reflecting only the critical signal. The result is a darker background, higher contrast, and a dramatic reduction in thermal load.

Ready for Your Rig

SOLEYE instruments are designed to integrate seamlessly into the modern astrophotographer’s workflow. Whether you shoot with ZWO, QHY, or Player One cameras, or mount on Sky-Watcher, iOptron, or 10Micron systems, our standard dovetails and back-focus spacing ensure compatibility. We build the instrument; you choose how to capture the data.

The Signature SOLEYE Look

While aperture defines resolution, it is the quality of the optics that defines contrast. The images below, captured with our flagship SOLEYE 300, demonstrate the breathtaking sharpness and dynamic range inherent in our design philosophy. This is the optical standard that governs every instrument in our lineup, from the portable 150 to the observatory-class 300.
